It continues to remain super hot here in Southern California. I’m not heat tolerant. Never have been. So why do I live in Southern California, where summer usually starts in June and goes on through the end of October? Sometimes I ask myself how this all happened. Sometimes, on days like this, when the mercury can top 100 degrees inland, I think, “Did I get on the wrong plane twelve years ago?” Since moving to the LA area in ’97, I’ve never acclimated fully to this weird, dry, heavy, constant, white heat. But I can never think of where I should move to escape it. I guess I like being here. Minus these long summers.
Stay cool this week, wherever you are.

somehow you have made this cookie look very cool…pun intended, he-he-he…
I’m not sure if that pun makes any sense…sorry.
Maybe I should’ve wriiten about a cool looking sun?
your sun looks very cheery!
My son used your bag yesterday to gather Meyer lemons with. He described it as “cool.” xoxo
LOL! LIly, I love that pun. Heh heh heh!
Mari, I love your Sun Cookie design. Alot. Too bad I’m not crazy about the heat of the real sun. Today, it’s headed toward the 90s. This morning around 5a.m., it was already 70 degrees. If I had money today, I’d take a cool cab ride home from work. But since I’m broke, I’ll be standing along the other poor souls and struggle to get on the crowded bus and stand next to someone who forgot to use some deodorant, or perhaps needs a stronger deodorant, and then I’ll go all the way underground (have to take the elevator down to the subway at this particular station) and take the train from there. With my luck there’ll be no air conditioning in the subway car, in which I step. Since it’ll be oven hot, there’ll be plenty of seats in this car. So, then I’ll be too lazy and tired to get up and get out and move into a car with working A/C. So, then I’ll suffer, but try not to think about the heat, till I get to my stop. Good thing I’m not wearing a suit today. Are feeling sorry for me, yet, Mari?
Have a cool week,
Paz
Lily Hydrangea, That pun works for me!
Bloglily, I’m so happy to hear that people are using my bags and enjoying them. About to finish a new batch…thought I was going to try to make a dress, but botched that one. So, the remnants are becoming bags.
Paz, Your description of your commute reminds me of my daily commutes when I was a reporter in Tokyo. Squishing into trains like sardines. I don’t miss that one iota. Take care and stay cool!
HEY, I HAVE AN IDEA WHERE YOU COULD LIVE!
The Outer Richmond in SF. The house on the other side of Emmy’s is for sale. I have the electric heater going by my desk as I type this. Wore my (lt weight) down jacket outside on hike.
I love that cookie.
