Monday Cookies: Hope. For a new start.

hope

Well, what do you think?

If you have found me through the old address for this blog, thank you for following.

So why the changes?

Last year, when I did a redesign of my site www.mischiefmari.com, I combined both my writing portfolio and my cookies portfolio and displayed them in the same place. Although I knew there were risks involved, like people not taking me seriously, I believed that people who really wanted to hire me as a writer wouldn’t care. In fact, I gambled on the idea that smart people would find that interesting and hire me because I’m a writer with unique interests and talents. Didn’t happen. At least, it didn’t happen often enough.

Time to get serious, I thought. So, I registered a new domain, www.mischiefmaricookies.com and put my cookies there. Since cha no ma-ri the blog has become a creative playground of sorts, I thought it only made sense to attach it to my cookies site as well. So. Now I lead a real double life: I am mari pfeiffer the writer by day, and I am mischief mari the baker the rest of the time.

The picture above is on our 2009 new year’s card. My Wolf went to great lengths to make the cookies stand up on their own and came up with the idea of putting the cookie cutters in the background. Perhaps he felt that hope was elusive in recent years, and that’s why he put the empty cutters in the back. Me? I just wanted to share my hope that this year is a good year. I’ve just got this feeling, you know…

Have a great week.

Ok – that makes sense. LOL You know I’d follow you where ever you went. Hope is ever-lasting. It’s the perfect opening for a new year and a “new” you. Good luck with the new writing site. I hope it works out well. (See? :) )

Love the cookies, love the new space, love that you call yourself “a supremely talented baker” — because you are! There IS reason to feel HOPE these days…and it makes me giddy just thinking about it. ;) Happy New Year to you and Wolf!

I can’t tell you what a great way this was (your new site / your cookies) to start my Monday and my week and (!) my next 8 years.

Wow!!! Nice site. Love the header photo. Also like the cookie cutters echoing the thought in the background of your New Year’s card–nice call on your Wolf’s part.

Mariiiii!! Fantastic to hear from you and yes, I too love this new look o’ yours! I can’t tell you how excited I am about that rather dashing new president of yours. More than anything, as you say, this is a year of hope. I’m excited about everything! Share the love, share the hope! Share your cookies, more importantly!

By the way, I have a mailing address here in the southeast, and would LOVE some of your delicious cookies. Can I e-mail you my address?

Great to ‘see’ you again. xx
