Just before Valentine’s Day, I mentioned that one of my goals this year is to move some of my cookie designs to other formats, like paper and fabric. This bulldog, who you might recognize from my main site’s banner, is the first attempt. He was lovingly replicated using Adobe Illustrator, a not very friendly program, but ultimately a very useful program. Every time I mess up in Illustrator, I cuss and swear that it requires another advanced degree to master. Well, I’m up to my very thick eyebrows in student loans, so I’m not going to grad school anytime soon. Actually, make that never again. I don’t care if I am someday regarded as undereducated.
Calling all artists, illustrators, graphic geniuses and everyday people with good taste to kindly give me some feedback. I hope to put Mr. Bulldog on a few cards and tags. Should he remain white?
Have a dawg of a week.

What a great idea to try this, I really like how the design translates. I’m not a designer, but I am a painter. & I love the bulldog in white.
Sometimes. Depending on the background.
I really like the dog in the white background. Great idea to move your designs into other formats!

I really prefer the bulldog as he appears on the cookie. Black and white is a bit too stark for me and he has more graphic sizzle with the brighter colors. And, oh yes … Feliz Cumpleanos!
Hi Everyone, and thanks for the feedback on the bulldog. He’s still in the initial phase of my tampering with him…I’m trying to find ways of putting him on different colored backgrounds, maybe making him blue, etc. In other words, he’s a work in progress. — mari
Love the bulldog! Seems like your designs in general will do well in other formats!
I’m a fan of spritely colors myself, especially for spritely designs like this.
Your bulldog is so cute, I would do different designs and compare to see which I liked best.
Hi Lisa, Thanks! It’s a relief to think that others can see where I might be going with this…
Rhonda! I am definitely trying the design with different colors and backgrounds and shapes, too.
Oh I have something for you Mari! Will send it now by e-mail.
I love them both – and love the text too. Somehow it matches the dog completely. But take a look at my e-mail.

I cannot tell you how happy I am and how you have made my entire month. I wish I could somehow express how grateful I am. You are wonderful.
Photos to follow very soon!!
Thank you.
Captain Cat: I loved the “real” bulldog! Ha, ha. And wow, my cookies made it all the way to Afghanistan. That’s a first! Have a great holiday!
