I sent this little diddly to the NY Times just a few days ago, thinking, “They’re never going to put it in.” But there it is!
And don’t forget to check out the other amazing photos and recipes from other bakers. Wolf just spotted a most interesting recipe for Norwegian Hannukah cookies.
All of the cookies and recipes are here. Thanks NY Times editors!
Nice way to finish a slightly insane day…

VERY NICE way to finish a slightly insane day.
Congratulations!!!
that’s great–i’m so excited for you! (and i especially love that they’re the FIRST in the slideshow).
what a lovely way to cap such a special year for you.
Congratulations! What a great photo and what a fun website! You have really inspired me. Thanks!
I found your blog through the NY Times article on cookies – my daughter and I are getting set for a marathon cooking day tomorrow, and we’re using your recipe, along with the mini meringue recipe. I hope I can get all the ingredients here in France! I will probably use Van Houton chocolate powder, or thick chunks of dark Belgian chocolate.
& mega-congratulation on your baby daughter – she looks adorable!
Linda, Yes, it was a great way to end the day. Thanks!
Marilyn, I was totally shocked that my cookies appeared and then to be first in line. Yikes!
Pat, Inspired you? Yay! Let me know what you make. I’d love to see photos, hear about how it went.
Jennifer, I hope you like the recipe I sent to the Times. It produces a very rich, deep flavor. Van Houton chocolate powder should work just fine, too. Joyeux Noel!
Mari! This is so cool! & I am so not shocked that you were put in the NY Times-your cookies are fabulous!
Your greatest fan,
Lily
Congrats!
